I learned last Friday about a local natural park that’s about .3 miles away from where we live. It’s at the Frazer Center. So today I put on some Injinji socks and my Vibram KSOs and went for an exploratory run. No one was in these woods, which made losing myself (sorta, not really THAT big of a woods) and periodically stopping and/or vaulting over a creek or a huge felled tree a lot more adventurous. I gotta say, it is so much more fun to run through the woods than on the street/sidewalk. Dodging roots and limbs, running into spiderwebs (all the time!), vaulting stuff, trying not to sink in mud – all make for a much more exciting running experience.
All in all, I was running around for about 30 minutes. No clue the distance I travelled. I’d guess it was two miles or maybe a bit more. I have no clue about this stuff.
I rested for a few minutes upon returning and then did 50 70 lb. kettlebell high pulls per arm – 5 sets of 10 per arm.
